Milk, cream, and half & half—make sure you buy the freshest you can find. This is especially true for cream, which has an amazing shelf life of 30 - 40 days from delivery to the store. If you are buying cream and notice that the sell-by date is next week, look further back in the display for a fresher container as the cream you found has probably been sitting for close to a month.
